I'll be cooking dinner

You can all say "uh-oh" now.

I'm not much of a cook. I can cook if there's a set of instructions, otherwise, well, forget it.

I know my mom would really like it if I cooked more often so I can take over the task when I'm home and she can rest. But the thing is, my family is kind of picky. Picky in the sense that they always like food to taste the way they're used to it tasting, and anything new (and in this sense, weird-tasting) is basically a no-no.

So anyway, I've been cooking more than I used to. Like last weekend I cooked a pasta dinner. It took me hours to do such a simple dish (it was only tomatoes, basil, and bacon tossed with pasta, after all) but I'm glad that the family seemed to like it enough to finish all of it.

For dinner this evening, I will be making Shepherd's Pie. I found a super simple recipe so that's what I'll follow. I like it because it doesn't use too much of the bad stuff, like cream. I saw Rachael Ray's recipe and hers uses cream. I don't like that. My dad doesn't, too.

I'll post the results later on. :) I hope it doesn't turn out bad! Wish me luck!

PhotoHunt: Ruin(ed)

taho!

This is soybean curd mixed with tapioca pearls and syrupy brown sugar. It's a breakfast cum dessert type of food here where I live. I know it must look icky to some but I tell you it is wonderfully delicious. A comforting type of food. My family and I were in a restaurant when I got this. We went to a place where they had buffet for breakfast. I noticed at the last minute that they had soybean curd so I served myself some. Clumsy here spilled a lot of it when I set it down on the table. :(

Saturday cleanup

I found a plastic box in my parents' room that barely had anything in it and so I decided to use it to hold my yarn.

I still have some that couldn't fit in the box.

I finally freed up some space in this old cabinet in my room for my bags/purses. I really think it's high time the cabinet got updated so when I have extra money, I'll get someone to work on it.

My New Blog!

I'm so torn about what to do with this new blog. I could blog here about my crochet and knit activities, or I could post about my trips to his place, or this could be another personal blog. Gosh. So many possibilities, just one brain. I don't want this to be a mirror of my other blogs. :(
